#6: She’s a Bike Racer, Too | Daphne Karagianis

Daphne Karagianis is a Chicago-based bike racer, most recently becoming the Illinois state time trial champion, the Illinois state category one road race champion, and the Tour of St. Louis Omnium winner.

She is the co-founder and captain of the Chicago Women’s Elite Cycling program and has competed with the Chicago Cuttin’ Crew, a local team comprised mostly of bike messengers. In this episode, Daphne talks to us about alley cat races, her participation in the Tour of the Gila and other races as a UCI guest rider, and what it’s like to ride in a velodrome.

Oh, and she’s a pretty sick graphic designer too.
